Hi, my name is George. I’m a 35-year-old integrative counsellor based in Essex and I’m deeply passionate about mental health and well-being, a passion that grew from my own lived experience of struggling with severe OCD and anxiety throughout my 20s. It wasn’t until I sought counselling myself that I began to truly understand what was happening in both my mind and body. I still remember walking out of my very first session thinking, “I’d love to be able to help others in this same way.”
In 2019, I took a leap and enrolled in a short introductory course in counselling and I immediately fell in love with the process. After four and a half years of training and personal growth, I qualified as a counsellor.
The journey to becoming a therapist taught me a great deal about myself, and I’m now committed to helping others work through their own challenges. Since 2022, I’ve supported both young people and adults facing a wide range of emotional and mental health issues.
I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and have experience working with anxiety, low mood, depression, OCD, and intrusive or negative thoughts. I also have a fully enhanced DBS check, ensuring that I provide a safe, supportive, and professional environment for all clients, including vulnerable individuals.
Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
Level 3 Certificate in Counselling skills and theory
Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills
I offer a warm, empathic and non-judgmental approach, in a confidential safe space. You are free to explore issues, emotions and feelings, that may have come about through various life events. I also look at combining techniques from CBT and PCT theorists, which will hopefully improve everyday life by offering tools to manage stress and anxiety, while building coping mechanisms.
I understand the importance of privacy in therapy, and I can guarantee that all your sessions are confidential and conducted in a safe environment.
Everyone starts with an assessment, during which we discuss your wishes and aims for counselling. You may find you would benefit from one or two sessions, and this can be accommodated. However, some people benefit from more, and that's completely normal, enabling me to support you further.
